Sambuddha Global Foundation – Awarded
UNESCO World Heritage Mahabodhi mahavihar Bodhgaya
Mahabodhi Mahavihar is not only the heritage of Buddhists, but a sacred responsibility for all followers of Lord Buddha worldwide. No single religion, caste, or organization can claim ownership of this sacred place.
This sacred heritage belongs to the global Buddhist community. Sambuddha Global Foundation has initiated a worldwide movement to restore Mahabodhi Mahavihar to complete Buddhist administration and spiritual freedom.
Historical Background
Emperor Ashoka built the Mahabodhi Mahavihar after embracing Buddhism. For centuries, Buddhists from across the world came here for worship and meditation.
However, administrative control was taken away from Buddhists. The Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) was formed, where Buddhists were reduced to a minority.
Legal & Constitutional Struggle
For decades, Buddhist monks and organizations have fought legal battles to reclaim this sacred site. Despite constitutional guarantees of religious freedom, Buddhists continue to struggle for rightful control.
The movement has reached courts, commissions, and international forums, gaining increasing global support.
A Global Buddhist Movement
This movement is not limited to India. Buddhists across Asia, Europe, America, and other regions are uniting to restore Mahabodhi Mahavihar to its rightful spiritual custodians.
Youth, monks, scholars, and lay followers are encouraged to participate actively and raise global awareness.
